Grace

At church sunday we talked about grace, about how it is a gift from God that we are given and we dont have to earn, that is the beauty of God's Amazing Grace. They also showed a video that was pretty powerful too. http://http//www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/video/video.php?v=10150115606722212&oid=198795206583&comments Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now I see. T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear The hour I first believed. Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come; 'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far and Grace will lead me home. When we've been here ten thousand years Bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we've first begun.

love this guy...

I love my husband. He is my best friend, my favorite sounding board, the best daddy ever, and the most patient. He has been my rock through this pregnancy and always. No matter what happens he just says "it will be okay babe" and it always is.

17 Weeks!

I'm 17 weeks! Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 17 Weeks

Size of baby: This Week each baby is the size of an onion--Their skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.

My Total Weight Gain/Loss: Lost 10 lbs

Maternity Clothes: I just went shopping yesterday and got 2 pairs of maternity jeans and 2 new shirts! Love them!

Gender: We are still "team green" but we can find out at our next ultrasound in April :) According to Gav "the boy" is on my left side and "the girl" is on the right.

Movement: I felt my first dinstinct movement wednesday while I was cleaning our toliets.

Sleep: I am sleeping good and not taking for granted still sleeping on my stomach(kinda)

What I miss: sleeping all night without a bathroom break

Cravings: I've lost my appetite lately - I think maybe my stomach has run out of room?

Symptoms: I feel really good right now. Still tired at night, but I feel good.

Best Moment this week: Our ultrasound yesterday and hearing the heartbeats for the first time! Baby A (the lower baby) had a heartrate of 164, Baby B (upper right middle) had a heartrate of 161.

Mommy Recess

I just coined a new term "mommy recess" Its like girls night, but with moms, and sounds a little more responsible. *maybe*

Last night at mommy recess, My friends lacey and tara, and a new friend Sara met at our local mexican hot spot for yummy food. I ordered chicken chimichangas... my favorite. They were SOOOO good. What was even better was the friends, the laughing, the conversation with grown ups.

I think as moms, we are guilty of feeling bad when we spend time not doing things for our kids, our houses, our husbands. It was good for my soul to laugh, and visit with my mom friends. It just dawned on me that I didnt take any pics of last night, (darn guess that means we have to do it again real soon) Here is a pic of Lacey, Tara and I a few months ago at Tara's wedding, it will have to do! We call each other BLT (Breigh-me, Lacey and Tara) I am so thankful for great girl friends.

5 years

Today is a huge day for our family!

Today we will celebrate 5 years without a seizure for Karter!

He took this cake to school to share with his friends!

Everyday I am reminded how blessed we are. Today, I thought a lot about how young I was when Karter was diagnosed. How young WE were. He was barely a month old, I was barely 21. The weeks we spent in the hospital were defining times in my life. They defined my relationship with Scott, they repaired my relationship with my mom (who slept in a crib while I slept on the couch) I did a lot of growing up that week.  A lot of growing up.

One more for the road...

I keep this blog, to remind my self of the funny things my kids say and do so I can always look back and remember when they were cute (should be particularly helpful when they are stinky teenagers)
Here are a few Gav quotes from this week:

  • "I am only going to kiss your tummy over here, because that is where the boy is, and i dont kiss girls, and she is over there!"

  • "Its the house that the big bad wolf cant blow down grandma" (When explaining which house is our babysitters

  • "hey Mommy-- me, karter and daddy have peewees that work like hoses, they are good for putting out small fires. You just have a china"

  • "I am just going to quit school"

  • "I dont like tuesdays anymore"

  • "Can I drive the babies in the back of my gator?"

5 Years of Celebration!

I cant figure out with my new computer how to turn the pictures the right side up.
So tilt your head, but celebrate with us!
Karter has been seizure free for 5 YEARS today!!!!
Praise God!

Feeling better at the nest

Praise God!
I am finally starting to feel like myself again! A still tired, out of breath version of myself, but myself- none the less!

Have you seen the eagle cam? K is super crazy about checking in on the eagles everyday at school and after! We have had lots of fun times watching the eagles nest! The boys are excited for the eggs to hatch, sometime near the first of April.

Hope you have as much fun as we do watching it.
luv,
B

15 Weeks.

Today, I am 15 weeks pregnant with the twins.

At 15 weeks:

The babies are each about the size of an orange or a beefsteak tomato. (or one of each in my case-lol

How am I feeling? Well I am glad you asked.

I have some upper respiratory infection straight from H-E-double hockey sticks. It has caused me to lay in bed and miss work all week, spend a fortune at the pharmacy and landed me in the ER for breathing treatments and steroids. I am feeling a little better today, but not much. My short term goal is to make it to church on Sunday.

As far as how I am feeling baby related, Great! My morning sickness hasn't been a regular visitor since week 11, not puking all day puts things in a much better perspective. Also, life has gotten much better since I stopped buttoning my pants at 12 weeks. To whoever invented the bellaband, there is an extra jewel in your crown in heaven!

What am I eating:

  • fruit, lots of fruit- grapefruit, apples, strawberries, peaches, cantaloupe LOVE fruit!

  • Cereal- my favorite, Quaker oat squares

  • potatoes- baked potatoes

  • oatmeal- maple and brown sugar

What I am definitely NOT eating:

  • hot dogs- seriously, I swear I can smell them when I'm bringing them home in the trunk of my car (this is extra funny bc when I was pg with Gav, I HAD to have a QT hot dog EVERY time I was in dm)

  • meat- meat just doesn't sound good, I may make it, thinking it will be okay, but then end up eating very little because it just doesn't taste right or smell right.

Upcoming events:

On March 16th, Karter will be seizure free for 5 years!!!!! Praise to God!
My next baby appt is in 2 weeks, I will be 17 weeks, just a regular appt with ultrasound
Our "big" anatomy ultrasound" is scheduled for April 19

Heres a pic of the bambinos from our 8 week check, back when they were each the size of green olives. When I get new pics I will post them!
