One hott mess!

Today, my facebook status reads "Holy Hormones Batman!" I have been one hott mess of hormones all day today.

I am cleaning our house today so I can start working on one of our goals for 2011, to declutter our house by 40%. With two kids in school, we have a lot of clutter. Lots of art work and school papers. I am the first to admit I am not much for being organized but things are getting out of control quickly. I feel overwhelmed. *enter breakdown #1 stage left*

While cleaning, I found not one, but 2 pair of shoes I have kept just in case we were having a little girl, they are so stinkin cute... This got me to thinking about tutus and bows and all sorts of pretty "girl" things *breakdown #2*

Then I switched my laundry and folded all the little boy clothes I recently found at a garage sale. *here comes breakdown #3--because I love having little boys AND because they are so tiny for such a little amount of time.*

After folding the clothes, I realized I really do not have any preemie clothes. I hopped on thebump and posted to see about how long twins are in that size. I cried again because the thought of little babies scares me.

I stubbed my toe--- breakdown #5

I busted up laughing because all this had happened before 12:30 this afternoon!

I started laughing again thinking about what would happen if when we did deliver the twinkies if they ended up being b/g instead of b/b. Then I started crying because I would be totally unprepared, but then laughed again because I can close my eyes and see Scott's reaction already!

I sneezed, and my nose started bleeding (for the millionth time this week) I cried.

Crying, I started to write this post because I thought journaling would help me to sort things out, now I am laughing at how funny all this seems now, even if I was all over the place earlier!

Phew! I think I need a nap!

To quote Grace Adler from Will and Grace "this crazy is allllllll real!" lol ;)

22 weeks

I am 22 weeks!!!!

Pregnancy Highlights: How Far Along: 22 weeks today!!!

My Total Weight Gain/Loss: I havent checked lately.

Maternity Clothes: Tunics and maternity jeans all the way baby! (babies!) I did buy 2 pairs of capri pants that were maternity and today was the first nice day I could wear them ( i wore them for easter but it was kinda chilly!)

Gender:Boys boys boys!!! I actually bought some garage sale bargains for them on Wednesday!!! I have to admit, its kind of nice knowing that each outfit I buy can be worn by 2 babies!!!

Movement: My uterus is a land of constant moving right now! Baby A feels more like flutters and rolls while baby B is definately more punches and kicks!

Sleep: I am exhausted but having a hard time getting comfortable at night. So actually falling asleep is the hardest part. After getting over that, its just the constant bathroom breaks! What I miss: sleeping all night without a bathroom break :)

Cravings: Strawberry Cupcakes from Robin's Bakery Barn, and Jimmy Johns!!!!! At our last appointment I even passed on Scott taking me to Latin King for lunch in favor of Hardee's for breakfast and Jimmy Johns for Lunch!!!!

Symptoms: I am still feeling really good. Heartburn is getting better-- thanks to Zantac. My hips, lower back and pelvis hurt/ache pretty much constantly. It feels like I have had my legs wrapped around an elephant. I have had an insane amount of nosebleeds this past week-- I have never had one before (except for when I accidently hit my nose) but I have had close to 8 in the past week! 4 in the last 2 days!

Best Moment this week: Getting the boys (the little boys's) crib bedspreads in the mail this week, actually buying things for them!

A great night out with friends!!!

Last night we went to celebrate this girls birthday! Where did we go?? Where else but our favorite mexican hot spot in town! Our food was yummy, the kids were all well behaved and we celebrated Lacey's 28th birthday (which is today!)
Tara and Curt got to do some special celebrating too! Last week they gave birth to their amazing little guy! He was having some troubles and they thought he was having seizures and after being transported to the childrens hospital in the city, and hanging out in the NICU for a week, they got to bring him home last night! Here is Tara with her well deserved margarita!!! Praise God for a Healthy Bentley!!!!

This is Lacey and Brett! Brett planned the whole night as a surprise for Lacey! He even ordered the cake and I went and picked it up for him!

Oh Ship!

K bent down to pick something off the floor, stood up, and said "Oh Ship!"

I asked him "what did you say"

Without blinking an eye he responded "I said Oh Ship, like a big boat on the ocean!" and flashed the "duh mom" look he has seemed to master at the wise ol age of 5 and three quarters.

What am I going to do when all four of them flash the "duh mom" look???
"oh ship!"

Gav's Reaction

When we found out we were pregnant and told the boys, Gav started referring to my stomach as "the babies" We continued to tell him over and over that there was only one baby in there, but he wouldn't budge. We laughed. A few seconds before the Dr walked into my initial ultrasound/Dr appt I looked at Scott and asked him "what if Gav is right?" he assured me I was crazy and I asked what was our plan b in case he was wrong. That's the day they said there was twins.

Since then he hasn't wavered that there was one boy and one girl. Even going so far as to say he was only going to kiss the left side of my stomach because that's where the boy is and he doesn't kiss girls. When we took them to my last ultrasound at 16 weeks when baby a was on the screen he said "there's the girl" and when baby b was on the screen he said "there's the boy"

Now that the ultrasound at 20 weeks says 2 boys there is absolutely no convincing him that they are both boys. Here is how the conversation went between him and my mom today:

Mom: "Gavin, do you know what I heard, I heard that the Dr's said the
babies in mommy's tummy are both boys"
Gavin: "But they aren't here yet."
Mom: "Yes but the Dr said the pictures show 2 boys"
Gavin: "They are wrong"
*end of conversation*

I'm not sure who to believe, Gav or the Ultrasound tech! lol!!!

Boys, Boys! Boys!

First of all, we are twenty weeks this week, and being twenty weeks means it's the ideal time for the anatomy ultrasound (for one baby means about a 1/2 hour ultrasound measuring baby) for two babies it means an hour of ultrasound and tons and tons of pictures.

Everything looks great on the ultrasound.
We found out that each baby is weighing about 1lb each.
That each baby has their own sac and placenta- meaning they are almost 100% fraternal (not identical.
And that each baby has a penis... Yup 2 more boys for us!!

Our facebook status says
"Our family is growing by 4 feet, and 2 more penis's"

I was just a little dissappointed at first because I do know this is our last time being pg (do you know we have doubled our number of kids each time we've gotten pregnant-- so fat chance Scott will EVER agree to try again!) And I always just thought I would have a girl. But I am so excited that the two of them are super healthy looking. And having boys means cheeper proms and weddings in the future! I wont ever have to mow my yard again!!!! Woohoo!!!

Pregnancy Highlights: How Far Along: 19Weeks Size of baby: This Week each baby is the size of a mango--or a 6 inch sub from Subway....mmmmm Subway! My Total Weight Gain/Loss: Holding steady at down 10 lbs from pre pregnancy

Maternity Clothes: Non maternity jeans just dont really fit, and very few shirts are fitting at this point, I love love love tunics or sweater dresses which is what I have been living in- until I get home and bail out of my clothes and into sweats as fast as I can.

Gender: We find out a week from tomorrow. I cant wait to buy some baby clothes. I really have no idea what they are... I used to say I would be surprised if they are both girls, because I didnt think they were, now, I have no clue. This is also the most common question I get, "do you know what they are?" my favorite response..."nope 'twins' was enough of a surprise for the first 20 weeks" lol

Movement: I feel a combination of flutters and straight up kicks.... more flutter from the bottom baby and kicks from the top baby

Sleep: I just told Scott last night that sleeping was getting kind of uncomfortable. What I miss: sleeping all night without a bathroom break :) Also kinda craving a margarita..

Cravings: I want pizza, but pizza and I cant be friends anymore.... it gives me awful heartburn. So do sweets most days.

Symptoms: I feel really good right now. Being tired and having heartburn are my biggest complaints.

Best Moment this week: We are looking forward to our dr appt this next week

It dawned on me...

The other day when I was moving the totes of Christmas items that after Christmas 2009 I bought new stockings to use for the following holiday. I loved them, and didnt want to replace them so soon so I bought 5 with the thought that we would probably be trying to have another baby, or we would get a dog, but somehow we were probably going to need another stocking. Enter Christmas day, 2010, We took a pregnancy test which said we were indeed pregnant, now we know the extra stocking was for a baby, not a dog....

So it dawned on me the other day that 5 stockings is just not going to be enough for Christmas 2011. We need another one... because this Christmas, will be our first Christmas as a family of 6!!!
