30 Weeks!

I am 30 weeks pregnant with the twins today!
It's unreal to me that we have less than 8 weeks until they make their appearence. My dr said they would not try to stop my labor after 34 weeks. (july 22nd)
The babies are each the size of pumpkins(for the next couple of weeks anyway)

Maternity Clothes:
I am strictly wearing maternity clothes at this point, as well as long- tunic-like tank tops. My maternity clothes all fit like they are suppose to, I hope that continues!!!!

Gender:
They are both boys, and I am getting more and more excited about that.

Movement:
I had my first trip to L&D yesterday because of lack of movement for Baby A. After a NST, the nurses and my dr decided that he must just be flipped in my stomach so that I am feeling his movements on the left side not the right like usual. Both babies had beautiful heart tones :)

Sleep:
I have noticed I am staying up much later than usual. I hope this is my body getting ready for babies!

Cravings:
Nothing! Its been really hard to think of anything that sounds REALLY good. I am going to talk to the dr on Monday about starting to drink some kind of protein drink so I can continue to get the nutrition I need because it seems really hard get it by eating.

Symptoms:
I am still feeling AWESOME!!! Praise the Lord!!!

Best Moment this week:
Ordering the twins coming home outfits!!! So cute!!!!

Happy Birthday Gavin and a trip to where it all began...

Happy birthday to the little boy who keeps me on my toes with his questions, keeps me laughing with his comments and melts my heart with his snuggles. I just cant believe that my little boy is 4 years old. 4 years ago today he made his appearence faster then anyone could have imagined (in 2 pushes) Little did we know that the baby God blessed us with would fill our lives with more questions then we knew the answers too, and fill us with laughter at his comments. We are so blessed to have Gavin in our lives.

Because of events we didnt plan (see below) some of our plans got changed for Gavin's birthday. Scott's mom took Gav to get his cake to share it at Park Center with Scotts grandma and Gav's friends Bud and Ella. Ella was actually my old kindergarten teacher. They are dear friends of Scotts Gram, but have since become great friends of Gavin. He loves going to Park Center and I smiled when he told me that was where he wanted to spend his birthday.

At home, we opened his presents-- Rubber Spiderman boots, to replace the giraffe boots that are 4 sizes too small. We had sloppy joes, which were sooooo good. And we watched Gnomeo and Juliet.

a trip to where it all began.....

Last night before bed I told Scott that I hadnt felt much movement from baby a, well this morning, I still hadnt felt much for movement. I called our OB and she wanted me to come in to sit on the monitor for a NST just to check things out. Praise the Lord, everything was fine! The nurse had a hard time getting the monitors just right on my stomach and then keeping the babies under the monitor. Baby B is definately going to be my wild child. lol! But finally everyone was hooked up and both babies heart rates looked amazing! My BP was awesome too 116/69-- which I thought was amazing because I was SOOOOOO worried before going in there.

Week 29

Can you believe we are over 29 weeks pregnant with the twins? I think I have worked so hard to savor every minute of this pregnancy that it is going by sooooooo fast! It really does just seem like yesterday we were laying in the ultrasound room about to recieve news that would change our lives forever. At my last dr appt our dr explained to Scott and I that after 34 weeks (thats July 22nd) if we went into labor they would not do anything to medically stop it. Now, 34 weeks is still the "early side of term" so we are hoping for at least the first week of August-- which is 36 weeks. Our dr also gave us the option of scheduling our induction as early as August 19th.

I just cant believe we are talking about delivering these babies already. We have lots of options depending on how the babies are positioned. Scott and I are just praying that some of the decision making is done for us. (if both babies are breech--which they are as of last week-- we are an automatic c-section for example) I think delivery is probably my greatest stressor right now. The boys are scheduled to start school the week I am 38 weeks. As much as I would like to keep them in as long as possible to avoid any NICU stay, I also dont want to miss out on the first day of school. I suppose, like not much else in life, I am not in control, God is. We just have to trust that HE knows when these babies need to make an appearence and continue to pray that they are healthy and need no NICU stay.

I am still feeling really great! Mandy's wedding was this past weekend while it was totally exhausting I had a great time. I told my mom that it was probably going to be my last real night out with my friends. At this point, things can change rather quickly.

This weekend we are having the boys's birthday party. Just some family and maybe a few friends with cake and ice cream. We are also going to be setting up the crib in our room, as well as bringing in the dresser we bought for the babies! Another busy weekend!!!!

a funny :)

Mother's Day Card....

I found this card from Scott that he gave me for Mother's Day a few years back... I know it was at least 2 years ago mostly because he has gotten me the same Mother's Day card 2 years in a row- lol (it is a VERY funny card btw) He almost always gets me funny cards, so I know why it was important to keep this particular card because it's one of those romantic cards....
It says:

Someday, many years from now, we'll look back on this crazy time in our
life together and wonder how we did it all.... I'll sit close beside you and
take your hand in mine. We'll look at each other and say, "i'll do it all
again... and I wouldnt change a thing."

There is no one I'd rather
go through life with than you....
my partner, my love, my wife.
Happy Mothers Day.

I wish I would have written down exactly what was "crazy" that we were going through at that time. I smile because nothing in my memory, with the exception of when we were working on getting the house ready to move into would I qualify as crazy anymore. I remember thinking at times "things are really crazy around here" but now, all of that seems like just an ordinary day.

I turn 29 weeks at the end of this week... Average twins come between 34 & 36 weeks... this leaves a minimum of 5 weeks left with these babies inside my body, easy, and not crazy. I want them to stay in as long as possible. Every week, every day, every hour they are inside me they are that much stronger, that much healthier, that much closer to getting to come home with me from the hospital (no NICU stay)

I sometimes try to imagine what things will be like when they get here. It's hard to imagine really. My friend Hollie told me that it really wont be as bad as I have it pictured, lol, but my motto is prepare for the worst and be thankful when its not that bad :)

I spend a lot of quiet time worrying about how my relationship with Scott is going to change. We are doubling our children and we still only have the same amount of hands, arms, laps, eyes, etc. Having one baby seems to stretch a marriage-- your both tired, your both trying to adjust, its just hard. I cant imagine how things will change when there are 2 babies at one time. I love my husband, he is such a good daddy, and I cant wait to see how this new role looks on him (even if I am seeing it through my own exhausted eyes) I know God will take care of us. I am so excited that we have found a church that both of us love to be at, that will support us as we take on this exciting new change to our family. And to know that God will provide.

So like the card says, even when its crazy and we have no idea how we would ever make it through I know that we will be able to look at each other on the other side of the insanity and say...

"i'll do it all again... and I wouldnt change a thing."

Hard To Be Cool (In A Minivan)

Working on one of our goals....

Today is the first day of summer vacation. School is officially out for the summer, the windows are open, the sun is shining, the AC is-- broke... but the repairman is coming to fix it this afternoon.

Today also starts the day I plan on working on one of our major goals for this year. Because we are expecting 2 new babies this summer, I have decided that our house is WAY too cluttered. I love being in homes that have minimal stuff in them. Those homes, are relaxing to me... my home, isnt. Our goal is to decrease our stuff by 40%. I dont know how much that is... or really at this point just how much stuff we actually have. But I do know I feel like I am drowning somedays in stuff--our stuff. It hasnt been that long since I had a newborn that I still remember just how much extra room baby stuff takes up. Honestly, if we brought baby stuff into this mess, it would be a disaster.

I really want to get this project done sooner rather than later because at almost 27 weeks-- I really dont know how many more "good" weeks I have left. I am writing down a schedule on here so I have some accountability for getting things done.

Here Goes:

By Friday I would like to have this done:

The Kitchen/Dining area
start in dining room:

  • clean windows,

  • scrub screens

  • mop floor,

  • clean off table (this is the new goodwill launch pad and will be emptied every day)

  • clean out tool drawer and cabinet under this drawer -purge 40%
kitchen:

  • clean out bottom drawers organize... purge 40% of items

  • Clean out top drawers, organize.... purge 40%

  • clean out junk drawer... throw away outdated items

Hall Closet, sitting Room

  • pack up winter stuff-- its officially summer

  • purge 40%

  • Go through kids school papers, only keep my favorites

  • organize shoes--get rid of crappy flip flops & shoes that dont fit or we dont wear- only keep shoes in EUC for twins

  • sweep hallway, wash mirrors and windows

  • fold & put away clothes, send things that dont fit to launch pad

  • Clean out laundry cabinet...purge 40% find a more useful reason for that area (storing sheets or towels...etc?)
