A huge storm hit our neighborhood yesterday. I was home alone with the boys and we were hanging out in the basement where it is much cooler than the rest of the house(and the outside) I came upstairs because I thought I heard thunder and it looked like a storm was coming. I ran outside to get the pool floaties so they didnt blow into the cornfield. As soon as I picked them up, a monsoon started and when I reached the screen door I was being pelted by wind, rain, sticks, leaves and debrie. I was soaked when I got in the house I ran to the windows to close them and the wind caught them and blew them off the hinges. The water was pouring in the house, and I was running around franticly trying to get as many windows closed as possible. 3 more broke off the hinges and 3 others came out of alignment. It even sucked the screen out....
The screen from our living room its bent in the middle.
One of our windows on the back of the house. The screen to the other window was by the barn.
Pretty scary huh? I just remember praying really really loud "Dear God, please protect us, please protect us, please keep us safe please keep us safe" over and over again. We lost power, and my phone was dead so I put the boys in the basement with the babies ran to the van to call my dad to come help me (and bring more towels) and called Scott to tell him to get home ASAP.
The good news, we are all safe. Everyone did great and stayed relitively calm- until it was all over.
We are also making our first insurance claim, and living out of a motel until they can get our AC replaced. Now, on to some of the damage-....
this branch was on the garden, my tomato plants are squashed, but it missed the pool by only 10 feet!

We didnt get much for picture of the windows because my dad had them in before it stopped raining. Scott screwed them in so we will keep the inside protected. When we went back to the house today their were leaves next to the TV which, if you have ever been to our house, is on the opposite wall as the window. Holy Wind Batman!
The babies had their first haircut today! They did great, but its taken a little getting used to. I will hopefully come back later to narriate a little more, but now I am just too tired.
I just cant wrap my head around that in less than 2 months we will have two 1 year olds! Maybe I am having trouble believing it because I dont remember most of those first 6 months. :) Luke and Max are getting so big and are seriously doing new things every single day. The two of them are so different which surprises many people including myself sometimes. I am constantly reminding myself that they are two seperate people who just happen to share a birthday and a womb.
Both boys are on the move and in to everything. Their favorite places to hang out are in the bathroom, at the sliding glass door, and whenever the fridge is open they are right there.
Nursing is still going well, although they are really distracted little people and so I tend to get a better nursing session out of each of them if there is no distractions like tv, or a sibling around. Most days they nurse in the morning when they wake up, again after breakfast before morning nap, sometimes again when they wake up, and again after lunch before afternoon nap, and again at bedtime. Other days it seems like they nurse all.day.long.
Their sticker pictures are turning in to more of a challege these days. They have no interest in sitting still and are constantly moving, leaving not very many good pictures to choose from. I think I am going to have to teach myself how to do photoshop! Most of the pictures I have taken look like this:
They got one of their birthday gifts a few months early and they love it!
Heres a little more about what each boy is up to these days:
LUKE:
Luke weighs 18lbs and 10oz. He is 29 inches long.
Just this weekend (6.17.2012) he finally decided to trade in his walrus scoot for a full blown crawl. And boy oh boy he is FAST!
Also just this weekend Luke figured out how to climb the steps to our deck, lookout world he is on the move and nothing is safe.
He really doesnt like swimming, he would much rather just play like this.
He has 5 teeth.
He is wearing size 3 diapers and 9-12 month clothes.
Luke loves to clap his hands.
This month Luke found the power button on the front of the TV and has figured out how to use it to annoy his brothers to the max. When Karter and Gav are watching TV he pushes the button and shuts it off, and then laughs.
Luke is pulling himself to a stand along furnature. His sweet tiny chicken legs dont let him stand for very long though :)
His words include "dada" and "baba" and "brab" I think I have even heard a "mamama" a few times.
He is still waking up on average 4 nights a weekin the middle of the night. Sometimes more and sometimes less.
Here is a video of Luke crawling this month!
MAX
Oh Mr. Max almost always has a smile on his face!
He LOVES the water in the pool and cant quite figure out why we wont let go of him when we are in there (our pool is 48inches deep)
He is on the move and crawls everywhere, I think it is epecially cute when he bear crawls.
He weighs 23lbs 11oz and is 30 & 3/4 inches
He wears 12-18 month clothes and size 3 (almost a 4) diapers
