*THIS POST WAS ORIGINALLY WRITTEN SEPTEMBER 6th-- somehow I didnt hit 'post'*
We have survived our first month! Everyone is adjusting well! Later this afternoon, Gavin is going to his first day of preschool. He isnt necessarily excited, but I am sure he will enjoy the time away. Karter is enjoying going to school everyday. He loves his teacher and his class and seems like a pro at the "kindergarten thing"
Luke and Max are 1 month old. Which means we have survived the first month of having twins. From what I read, the first 6 months are the hardest. Yikes! One down, 5 more to go!
So heres what is going on with the babies!
- Luke and Max are both in size nb diapers and nb clothes
- Luke weighed 7lbs 3oz
- Max weighed 7lbs 13oz
- Both boys are spending more and more time awake and are very alert.
- We have started being able to tandem nurse! Huge time saver!
- Luke "sings for his supper"
- The lacation consultant at our local hospital is amazing! She has her own adult twins and is constantly reminding me to lower my expectations of myself.
- Each baby eats about a 4oz bottle, or nurses for 10-15 minutes
- Night time consists of bedtime around 10:30pm, up to feed at 1:30/2am and again at 4:30/5. Towards the end of this month Max started sleeping through his first night time feeding.
- Also at the end of this month Scott and I started to split shift the nights, I get up for the first feeding, he gets up for the second and then goes to work.
